Team Iraq - Hope Tour

FC Unity's London-based community leader, Ismail Jama travelled down to Djibouti to deliver FC Unity's first event there.

Equipped with large product donation from Nike UK, consisting of Manchester United shirts, shorts and other clothing, Ismail was able to meet some of the 329 orphans who live, are based and study at Al-Rahma Complex, Djibouti, the largest orphanage centre in the country.

Since there is another centre for girls only, the 329 children are all boys. Al-Rahma Complex is built and funded by a Kuwaiti national. This site proved to be the right place for our donation.

On 21-12-2010 Ismail met the director of this centre as well as other officials after making appointment he was therefore, well received and welcomed fully. The orphans received the t-shirts, kits and footballs with compliment, were highly appreciative and thanked FC Unity. Al-Rahma officials asked to stay in touch and be linked with FC Unity in the future, and so were more than happy to receive donations from FC Unity.

Supporting young children in need was always one thing Ismail loved more than anything else. The pleasant memory of supporting 329 orphans will live on for a long while for Ismail and FC Unity.
